Under the title "Back to school - lessons learned from the pandemic. How can it change the classroom of tomorrow?", the ITS Volda 2021 was dedicated to the current situation around COVID19 and school, as well as consciously looking into the future.

More than 120 students from the main organiser Volda University College (Norway) and the partners University College Absalon (Denmark), Åbo Akademi University (Finland) as well as the students of the module "Go International" of the PHT not only followed the lectures, but also worked intensively on the topics of the conference and reflected on them in working groups on both days.

Experts and practitioners from the partner countries gave interesting and informative lectures. The PHT Praxisvolksschule was also represented with a contribution by Walter Vigl on the first results of a survey of pupils of the PVS on the effects of the pandemic on teaching.

This year's ITS Volda was organised by Arne Humberset, Kjersti Markegård, Kristin Kibsgaard Sjøhelle and Eivind Hanevik from Volda University College (Norway): Louise Flege (University College Absalon, Denmark), Jan-Erik Romar (Åbo Akademi University, Finland), Ria Posthumus (Hogeschool KPZ, Netherlands) and Anita Konrad (Pädagogische Hochschule Tirol, Austria).

The ITS Volda conference was held for the first time in Volda in 2019, and after the cancellation of ITS 2020 due to the pandemic, the 2021 conference has now been successfully designed as an online event with great participation.
