der Auszeichnung mit dem österreichischen Umweltzeichen im Dezember 2025 wurde die PH Tirol im März 2026 auch als Klimabündnis-Betrieb und Green Event Location ausgezeichnet. Die Aufnahme ins Klimabündnis Tirol basiert auf umfassenden Aktivitäten der Hochschule zur Nachhaltigkeit in Betrieb, Verwaltung, Forschung und Lehre, in die die Schul- und Hochschulgemeinschaft aktiv eingebunden ist – ganz im Sinne eines Whole-System-Ansatzes. Die Nachhaltigkeitswoche, die an der PH Tirol von 8. bis 12. Juni stattfand, machte einige dieser Aktivitäten – hochschul- und schulübergreifende Bildungsformate etwa oder die gemeinsame Schaffung eines Begegnungs- und Erholungsraums am Vorplatz der Hochschule – sichtbar.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>PH Tirol als Klimabündnis-Betrieb und Green Location\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003Cbr \u002F>\nKlimabündnis-Betriebe bekennen sich zum nachhaltigen Handeln, dem verantwortungsvollen Umgang mit Ressourcen und zu ihrer gesellschaftlichen Verantwortung. Die Handlungsfelder, die vom Klimabündnis im Zuge der Zertifizierung analysiert werden, sind dabei vielfältig: Vom Energiesparen, der nachhaltigen Beschaffung und Annäherung an eine Kreislaufwirtschaft, dem Mobilitätsverhalten der Mitarbeiter:innen oder der Inklusion und weiteren Aspekten der sozialen Nachhaltigkeit. Die PH Tirol ist damit eine von zwei der insgesamt neun Tiroler Hochschulen, die als Klimabetrieb ausgezeichnet ist.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Daniel Kees, Berater bei Klimabündnis Tirol, hat den Aufnahmeprozess für die PH Tirol durchgeführt. Er hob im KlimaCheck den Whole-System-Ansatz der Hochschule hervor:\u003C\u002Fstrong> „Die PH Tirol zeichnet sich im Bereich Nachhaltigkeit durch eine starke Bandbreite aus: in nahezu allen operativen Bereichen werden wertvolle Maßnahmen umgesetzt. Im Rahmen des Aufnahmeprozesses konnten wir diese vielfältigen Bemühungen strukturieren und vielversprechende Synergien der Tiroler Hochschule identifizieren. Damit haben wir jene Basis geschaffen, mit der Betriebe strategisch noch gezielter, konkreter und zukunftsweisender arbeiten können und nachhaltig wirksam sind“.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Nachhaltigkeitswoche: Schaffung einer Begegnungszone und spannende Bildungsformate\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003Cbr \u002F>\nDie Nachhaltigkeitswoche von 8. bis 12 Juni 2026 machte einen Teil der Aktivitäten der Pädagogischen Hochschule Tirol sichtbar und brachte die gesamte Hochschulgemeinschaft in kreativen Austausch zum Thema: Ideen, Projekte und Perspektiven für eine nachhaltige Zukunft wurden entwickelt und Workshops, Vorträge und gemeinsame Aktionen rund um Umwelt, Bildung und gesellschaftliche Verantwortung durchgeführt.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>„Wir möchten gemeinsam Impulse für nachhaltiges Denken und Handeln setzen – kreativ, praxisnah und zukunftsorientiert“, \u003Cstrong>so die Leiterin der Fachstelle für Bildung für Nachhaltige Entwicklung Martina Überall.\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>So wurde etwa gemeinschaftlich mit der Gestaltung eines Begegnungs- und Erholungsraumes begonnen, der nach dem Wettbewerbssieger aus der Tiroler Fachberufsschule für Garten, Raum und Mode umgesetzt wird. Konkret pflanzten Volksschüler:innen gemeinsam mit Lehrlingen der Berufsschule Garten Raum Mode und ihren Lehrer:innen Bettina Wurzrainer und Christoph Wammes Blumen, Kräuter und kleine grüne Elemente. Auch Studierende, Lehrende, Mitarbeiter:innen in der Verwaltung sowie das Rektorat der Hochschule beteiligte sich an der Gartenarbeit. Das Projekt soll bis Juni 2027 fertiggestellt sein. Auch ein Bienenworkshop für Volksschüler:innen, die Bepflanzung eines Internationalen Beets, ein Radlkino oder ein Besuch im Weltladen mit Schokoladenverkostung zählten zum Programm. Die Nachhaltigkeitswoche der PH Tirol fand in Verbindung mit der International Staff Week der Tiroler Hochschule statt, die diesmal unter dem Motto der Nachhaltigkeit stand.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Gerade für solche innovativen und vernetzenden hoch-schulübergreifenden Bildungsformate und ein Nachhaltigkeitsverständnis, das alle Stakeholder und Bereiche entsprechend des Whole-System-Ansatzes – von Betrieb und Verwaltung über die Lehre und Forschung bis in den Schulalltag – einbezieht und auch Kooperation und Öffnung nach Außen anstrebt, wurde die PH Tirol ausgezeichnet.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Verleihung des österreichischen Umweltzeichens am 8. Juni 2026 in Wien\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003Cbr \u002F>\nIm Dezember 2025 erhielt die Pädagogische Hochschule Tirol als erste Tiroler Hochschule gemeinsam mit der Praxismittelschule und der Praxisvolksschule das österreichische Umweltzeichen. Damit honorieren das Bildungs- und das Umweltministerium das umfassende Engagement der Hochschule und der beiden Schulen für ökologische, soziale und ökonomische Nachhaltigkeit, die fest in Lehre, Forschung und Schulalltag verankert ist. Die offizielle Verleihung des Umweltzeichens fand am 8. 8 to 12 June 2026, the University College of Teacher Education Tyrol (PH Tirol) hosted its International Staff Week under the theme „Sustainability in Education“. The week brought together academics and staff from three continents – Europe, Asia and Africa – for a programme dedicated to sustainable teacher education and intercultural exchange.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>Partner institutions from Spain, Portugal, Poland, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Turkey represented the European network, while colleagues from Thailand, India and Kazakhstan joined from Asia. South Africa contributed the African perspective. Together, these international guests shared research, teaching practice and ideas across disciplines – and were given the opportunity to present their own lectures, projects and institutional experiences, opening valuable insights into educational systems from different parts of the world.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The week opened on Monday with a guided city tour through Innsbruck, giving our international guests a first impression of the Tyrolean capital. Over the following days, guest lectures addressed topics ranging from AI in education and biodiversity to multilingual learning, sustainable bio-business and project-based learning for responsible consumption.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Hands-on workshops by PH Tirol\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003Cbr \u002F>\nParticularly memorable were the practical contributions from PH Tirol itself. Wolfgang Zangerl invited participants to a bee workshop at the campus, where guests visited the campus hives and learned about beekeeping and the importance of bees for biodiversity and sustainable education. Stephan Walch then delighted the group with a special cheese tasting, paired with fresh honey from the campus hives and homemade honey ice cream. Stefanie Albert took participants on a culinary world tour, preparing dumplings from around the globe – from Austrian Schlutzkrapfen to Asian variations. Cooking regional Tyrolean specialities together with Peter Mitterer has long been a beloved highlight of our international weeks, and this year was no exception. The programme also featured a chocolate tasting workshop, and evenings were rounded off with the „Radlkino“, a bicycle-powered cinema.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>The academic programme was complemented by visits to a kindergarten, the affiliated primary school (Praxisvolksschule) and the affiliated middle school (Praxismittelschule) of PH Tirol, a Gallery Walk of partner universities, and a dedicated Green Event Day featuring an intercultural brunch and the planting of an international garden with seeds brought from participants‘ home countries.\u003C\u002Fp>\n\u003Cp>\u003Cstrong>Voices from our participants\u003C\u002Fstrong>\u003Cbr \u002F>\n\u003Cem>„The programme was thoughtfully designed and provided a perfect balance between academic exchange, professional development, intercultural learning and opportunities for informal networking. The visits to the affiliated educational institutions were particularly valuable – the opportunity to visit the kindergarten and primary school allowed us to better understand the Austrian approach to education and teacher training. One of the greatest strengths of the Staff Week was undoubtedly the international community that came together in Innsbruck.
